Ask your kitchen.
Your shopping list and kitchen records are already in Stockpea. Intents lets Stockpea answer questions about them through Siri and Shortcuts.
Running on Toolsperson Intents
The native actions are implemented and build checks pass. Physical-device Siri testing and public distribution are still pending. This guide is for the current development build.
Try a Stockpea action
- Start with your saved kitchen.
Open the updated Stockpea development build, finish kitchen setup, and select the household you want to ask about.
- Read a list directly.
In Apple’s Shortcuts app, create a shortcut and add Stockpea’s Read shopping list action. Run it to read your saved list. Optional settings let you choose needed or basket items, a food name, and a household.
- Ask a question.
Invoke Ask Stockpea in Siri, then answer its question prompt. Start with “What’s in my fridge?” or “What’s on my shopping list?” You can also run the Ask Stockpea action directly in Shortcuts.
Siri must first reach the Stockpea action. Mentioning Stockpea in an unrelated conversation may still fail to route to the app. If that happens, run the action in Shortcuts to check the saved-data answer.
What you can ask
- “What’s in my fridge?”
Read recorded stock in the fridge, pantry or freezer, including corrected remaining amounts.
- “What’s on my shopping list?”
Read the list, or ask which items are needed or in your basket. Basket items remain unconfirmed purchases.
- “Do I have eggs?”
Look for a food by name in your saved records.
- “What am I preparing?”
Read saved preparations. On-device question interpretation supports more phrasing when available.
Your records supply the answer.
Stockpea checks household access each time it reads. These actions use records saved on the device; the website never receives your kitchen records or Siri questions.
When Apple’s on-device model is available, it interprets the question without seeing your kitchen records. A limited offline fallback handles simple questions when the model is unavailable.
Recorded stock may differ from what is physically in your kitchen. Unknown amounts and estimates stay labelled. These reads do not measure food, decide whether it is safe, or change your stock.
For direct storage reads, add Ask about my kitchen in Shortcuts and choose Fridge, Pantry or Freezer. Refresh Stockpea search context rebuilds Stockpea’s searchable items and kitchen collections.
